CONGRATULATIONS…. You've just purchased one of
the highest quality differentials that you can buy. Our shop is constantly striving to build the best differentials you need for your specific application. For shipping purposes, these
differentials are shipped without oil or posi lube. It is "the installer's" responsibility to fill this differential with 80/90 gear lube and posi lube, at time of installation!
Correct Oil Filling ProcedureStep1:
a. After installing differential in vehicle, remove differential fill plug, with the vehicle sitting on level ground, and the suspension loaded. Fill differential with correct lubricant
for your application, until oil drips out fill plughole. Re-install the fill plug. b. Drive the vehicle on a one-mile test spin. Be sure to tilt the vehicle, hard to the left and right,
which will allow the oil to run out both axle tubes. c. Return vehicle to shop. Re-check differential oil with vehicle on level ground and the suspension loaded. Oil should just barely drip
out the fill hole when full. Re-install the fill plug. Repeat procedure if necessary. d. At 1000 miles of vehicle/differential operation, the differential oil must
be changed. Repeat entire oil filling procedure. From that day on, the differential oil must be checked at regular intervals .
Break in ProcedureYour new
differential also requires a break-in procedure to ensure long life and quiet operation. If these procedures are not done correctly, then overheating and gear set failure will occur. Break in procedure is as
follows:
1. Street Car- a. Drive vehicle easily, no heavy shock loads! Keep vehicles speed under 60 mph for approximately 15-20 miles.
b. Stop vehicle and allow it to sit for 1 1/2 hours to cool. c. Repeat this exact procedure twice. d. For the next 200 miles of operation, drive gently, without any heavy loads. e. If trailer towing is intended, an additional cycle of 200 to 300 miles break-in is required without the trailer. To properly break-in a new gear set, a minimum of 500 miles of driving is
essential before constant towing. 2. Drag Racing- a. With car on jack stands and wheels blocked, run in forward and reverse for approximately 5 minutes.** 3.
Oval Track a. With car on jack stands and wheels blocked, run in forward and reverse for approximately 5 minutes.** b. Run several laps at slow to medium speeds; let cool. c. Run several hot laps; let cool
**WARNING: OPERATOR MUST REMAIN IN DRIVER'S
SEAT AND ALWAYS MAKE SURE FRONT WHEELS ARE BLOCKED AND JACK STANDS ARE SECURED BEFORE ATTEMPTING THIS PROCEDURE--NEVER EXCEED 2000 RPM WITH WHEELS OFF GROUND. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THIS WARNING COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS
DAMAGE, PHYSICAL INJURY, OR DEATH!
